Text messaging system could support local businesses

by Richard Mooney

TEXT messaging could be the way of helping local business surivive the current financial climate.

SMS messaging is set to become a money saver for Glasgow shoppers, according to a new service.

Customers of the mobile service ‘Textmiser’ will soon be able to request deals on anything available locally. Texting “shoe” may get you a 20% discount on a new pair of shoes or texting “pasta” may get you a two for one deal at a nearby restaurant.

Dubbing Glaswegians ‘smart consumers who love a good deal’, Text Miser MD Ryan McCann said:

“Our system puts money saving deals on the products the customer wants to buy, right into the palm of their hand.”
