Shell V-Power Diesel - designed to give Scotland’s diesel drivers ‘more power for longer’
Shell V-Power Diesel - the fuel designed to give drivers ‘more power for longer’ is to hit the forecourts in Scotland. Using the same fuel technology that for the first time ever powered the winning Audi Sport car to victory at the 2006 and 2007 24 Heures du Mans, Shell V-Power Diesel is formulated to offer diesel drivers the highest levels of performance.
The launch comes at a time when the demand for diesel in the UK is at an all time high. Diesel sales are predicted to account for 41% of all fuel sales by the end of the year1. This growth shows no sign of abating and by 2012 this figure is expected to peak at 47%1.
The number of diesel cars on UK roads has more than doubled over the past six years1, proof of the growing phenomenon which is being labelled the ‘Dieselisation of the UK’. In fact, diesel-fuelled cars now account for more than one in five on UK roads.
This growth is being driven by improvements in the quality and sophistication of diesel fuel and diesel engine design. Shell V-Power Diesel is the first and only performance fuel to incorporate the revolutionary Shell GTL (Gas to Liquid) processing technology. Shell V-Power Diesel is designed to keep the fuel injectors clean for optimal combustion and to give motorists more power for longer. Motorists can now confidently choose diesel vehicles with the same high levels of performance and power that they would expect from a gasoline vehicle.
Nick Adams, General Manager Retail Sales & Operations says: "Recent years have seen significant growth in the uptake of diesel in the UK. Long gone is the perception of diesel vehicles as being both noisy and slow, or associated with industrial vehicles. We’re confident today’s diesel drivers will embrace Shell V-Power Diesel, a new diesel fuel tailor-made for today’s modern diesel cars."
